Murder on The Nile (2025)
A stage play based on the 1937 novel by Agatha Christie which started life as a play named Moon on the Nile.
Resurrected in 1942 with fewer characters than the original play version and reportedly excluded Poirot. It is claimed Agatha had tired of him, she decided to re-write the part as a Church Cleric instead.
In 1944 the title changed yet again to Hidden Horizon and some of the character’s names were also changed.
The same plot continues with all the murder mystery Christie traits, including a mix of interesting characters.
Kay Mostyn (nee Ridgeway) has led a charmed life, beautiful, elegant and poised and from an extremely wealthy background/family. She has recently married Simon Mostyn, a rather mild mannered easy going young man, who by her standards is rather poor, however falling in love overcomes the class and wealth difference.
They are honeymooning on a cruise down the Nile taking in the wonderful Egyptian sites along the way. Joining the cruise is Jacqueline de Severac who was once Kay’s best friend and was once engaged to Simon Mostyn. She has heard of their marriage and has decided to embark on her own vacation which happens to be a cruise down the Nile on the same boat as Kay and Simon.
Fatal circumstances await when the idyllic cruise is shattered by a shocking and brutal murder. Under scrutiny is a multitude of memorable passengers, all with a reason to kill. The tension and claustrophobic scenario builds, as a shocking and audacious conspiracy is revealed.
